DISTRIBUTION

We distribute a large range of minerals and steel products:

STEEL

TINPLATE

Tinplate is cold reduced steel sheet coated with a thin layer of tin. Tin mill products are produced in a variety of types including electrolytic tinplate, electrolytic chromium coated steel and black plate, an uncoated product. It has good corrosion resistance and food compatibility – although many products require a thin coating of lacquer to maximize the shelf life of the contents. Around 90% of tinplate is used in packaging, with food and drinks cans the biggest market, but it is also widely used for other consumer and general packaging, such as aerosols, paints and oils.

GALVANIZED STEEL

Galvanized steel is obtained when coating a steel sheet with a layer of zinc on both sides. It is a steel combined with zinc coating which makes a product capable for the manufacturing of corrugated products, highly resistant to corrosion. Its main uses are in Automobile industry, roofing for industrial warehouses, air conditioning channels, structural frames, panels, household appliances, etc.

REINFORCING STEEL BARS

Reinforcing bar, or rebar, is a common steel bar produced by hot rolling process with subsequent superficial hardening by heat treatment and is used widely in the construction industry, especially for concrete reinforcement, manufacture of anchor bolts, etc. Concrete is a material that is very strong in compression, but virtually without strength in tension. To compensate for this imbalance in a concrete slab’s behavior, reinforcement bar is cast into it to carry the tensile loads. Common steel or concrete reinforcement bar is supplied with heavy ridges to assist in binding the reinforcement to the concrete mechanically – this is commonly referred to as deformed bar.

TIN MILL BLACK PLATE

Cold rolled non-coated, lightly gauged steel, (from 0.15 mm to 0.35 mm). The basic tin mill product from which all other tin mill products are made, by adding a chrome or tin coating. Applications: Ideal for laminated products and with a wide range of inks and coatings: light fixtures, shelves, picture frames, batteries, etc.

TIN FREE STEEL

Tin Free Steel is a thin sheet of steel coated with a metal chrome film and chromium oxide and protected by a thin oil film. Applications: Widely used in the container industry, in the manufacturing of cans for food and beverages. Crown corks, tops and can ends, etc.

COLD ROLLED COIL

Hot-Rolled material passes the process of cold-reduction through a cold roll mill. The product gains higher precision (surface quality, gage control..) than HRC. Reaching a thickness below 2 mm ready to produce material with an added value. Applications: Metal plates, automobiles, tubes, construction, electric motors, metallic furniture, household appliances, etc.

HOT ROLLED COIL

Hot roll is the most used product internationally due to its great range in thickness applicable to a diverse use in the industry and construction sectors. Applications: Metallic structures, containers, tubes, construction, shipping and automobile industry.

MINERALS AND RAW MATERIALS

Manganese, manganese or magnesium stone is a chemical element, it is in the manufacture of metal alloys. Silver colored ore, industrial use. Ore on black isolated background.

MANGANESE

It is too brittle for that reason is mainly used in alloys, such as steel (around 13% of Manganese) to increase many beneficial characteristics such as higher tensile strength, hardness and durability. Manganese is an essential ingredient to iron and steel production, as this one cannot be produced without the other. It makes the steel harder, the same happens when alloyed with aluminium or copper, and it is used in the manufacture of construction materials.

COAL

It is a complex resource which has been used worldwide over thousands of years to produce energy, either heat or electricity. The most significant uses of coal are in electricity generation, steel production, cement manufacturing and as a liquid fuel. Coal is the primary fuel used by integrated iron and steel producers.

COKE

Coke is a substance made by heating coal until it becomes almost pure carbon. Coke from coal is grey, hard, and porous. Some coke making processes produce valuable by products, including coal tar, ammonia, light oils, and coal gas. Coke is used most often in making metals.

distribution-minerals-4

IRON ORE

Are rocks and minerals from which metallic iron can be economically extracted. Iron ore has been used by man for over 3,000 years. It is the 4th most common element in the world and this mineral substance consists of oxygen and iron atoms bonded together into molecules the primary forms of which are magnetite and hematite, also known as “natural ore”.

distribution-minerals-5

NICKEL ORE

Is a naturally occurring ore found in asteroids. It can be processed in a Refinery or an Arc Furnace to produce Nickel Ingots. Nickel Ore has a gritty red-tan texture, almost like sandstone and it is similar in appearance to Iron Ore although Nickel is a lighter brown, and has less blemishes. They can be distinguished by looking at the shade and any impurities.

MAGNETITE

As a distinguished characteristic of the mineral, is a natural magnet, hence its name. Magnetized pieces of magnetite, commonly known as Lodestone, attracts small particles of iron and other magnetic objects. It is used in coal mining operations as slurry with water to remove the heavier impurities by allowing the less dense coal to float to the surface. The magnetite can be reused in this process 90% of the time.

distribution-minerals-7

COKING COAL

Also known as metallurgical coal – is mainly used in steel production. It is different to thermal coal which is used to generate power whereas Coking Coal is heated in a coke oven which forces out impurities to produce coke, which is almost pure carbon. Approximately 70% of the world’s steel production is dependent on coking coal.

distribution-minerals-8

BAUXITE

Is a rock composed primarily of one or more aluminium hydroxide minerals. It is the world´s main source of aluminium although it needs to be refined through 2 processes. It can be used as an abrasive, propane, cement or chemical and metallurgical industries.

distribution-minerals-9

FERRO SILICON NITRIDE

Is a grey powder bar material. It is an alloy additive in smelting of cold-rolling orientated silicon steel. Its addition increases the steel strength of ambient low temperature and improves corrosion-resistance, thermal shock resistance and abrasion resistance of steels. It is also a new excellent refractory material, which can be used, instead of expensive Silicon Nitride, for proof-water gunning materials in steel plant.

FLUORSPAR

Or Fluorite is also known as The Most Colorful Mineral in the World. Actually, pure fluorite is colorless, but its wide range of colour variations is caused by various impurities. The colours of this mineral are very intense and electric and that is where the term fluorescence comes from. The origin of the word fluorite comes from the use of fluorite as a flux in steel and aluminum processing so metallurgical fluorspar is used as a flux in iron smelting to decrease the viscosity of slags.
